Mungle Selling 388 Skater, Taking Indefinite Leave of Absence from Boating

Kenny Mungle and his teammate Michael Lee Lockwood have made a name for themselves in the powerboat industry first as nationwide shootout champions and then as SBI championship competitors at Cocoa Beach and in Key West last year. It’s hard to miss their iconic orange and white Skater catamaran screaming by and the passion and class these two great racers bring to the sport is an inspiration to us all.

That is why we are so sad to see that they have decided to stop racing and see Mungle putting up the 38-foot Skater cat up for sale. We will miss seeing the duo on the water immensely and although the racing days are over we hope to one day see them in a shoot out again, although with the 32 foot Skater practically disassembled we imagine it won’t be for a few years at least if the time comes.

But as sad as we are, we have the utmost respect for Kenny as he says his reasons for taking a hiatus are to focus on his family and his 13 year old grandson this will now be living with him full time. A family man first, he’s beyond excited to spend time with his grandson and family and couldn’t be happier.

But hopefully, one day, we’ll get to see the pair fly by on the shootout course in the 32 footer again!
