Performance Boat Center Brings ‘A Little of Everything’ to FLIBS

Sunsation's new 40CCX is front and center at Performance Boat Center's on-the-water display in Fort Lauderdale.

The year 2018 marks the second consecutive year that Performance Boat Center has showcased its lines at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). The sprawling speedboat dealer, service center, marina and paint facility based in Osage Beach, MO, has come to Lauderdale with “a little bit of everything,” according to company co-owner Brett Manire.

The newest model on display at PBC’s on-water booth is the new 40CCX from Sunsation Powerboats, making its first major boat-show appearance. It’s powered by triple Mercury Racing 400 outboards. It’s joined by the Sunsation 32CCX, powered by twin 350s. “The 32 has been an absolute home run for us since the boat came out,” Manire says. “I believe this boat may be our 29th in the last two years.”

For the go-fast crowd, Manire is showcasing a 42X Cigarette powered by Mercury Racing 860s, as well as a Wright Performance 360 catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing 400 outboards.

PBC, which is also an MTI dealer, has a MTI-V42 with quad 400s on display at a different location at the 15th Street Fisheries location at FLIBS for customer demo rides. And you can see more MTIs at their own display, just a short walk down the marina.

Meanwhile, Performance Boat Center race boat driver Myrick Coil is currently at PBC’s new South Florida facility getting the Skater ready for Key West. “We already have trucks and trailers going down to Key West and getting set up for the race pits,” Marine says. “So we’ve got racing going on, boat show going on, and then we’ll start prepping for the Florida Powerboat Club poker run next weekend.”
