June 1st marked the opening of the season for many in the north. Maybe a little late for some but for others it was right on time. This June 1st I was very lucky and honored to be able to return to Lake St Clair and present the Tres Martin Performance Boat School to six powerboaters at Miller Marina. The session was spearheaded by Keith Burk. Keith decided to buy a boat for the first time and his first boat is a 340 Powerquest with 496 HO’s, quite a impressive first boat. He boated last year quite a lot and seems to have found a enthusiastic place in the powerboating world here in Detroit. I am sure the voice, guidance, and maybe a little nudging for Miller Marinas “Chip Miller” may have had something to do with this. Chip is a full fledged performance powerboating enthusiast and all around gear head. Boats, Bikes, Hotrods, and trucks he is all in and was instrumental in putting together a great group of boaters for this years course. I was thrilled to be able to come up to Lake St Clair again and be able to reminisce about the three incredible years I served here at the local Coast Guard Station. It was a great time in my life and being around some of the heavy hardware this Not Quite Great Lake has running on it certainly fueled my desire to find a way to a big block powered water ride.
I cant wait to get back to Detroit and look forward to seeing these guys on the water. If you see them or their bad ass boats stop and talk.
Here is the list of School Supplies for this group.

If you live or boat around Lake St Clair be sure to get in touch with this great group of guys. https://www.facebook.com/lscpowerboatclub
