Today’s news that Julie Weiss has been elected to the Fort Myers Offshore is good on many levels. First, Weiss has a strong record of getting things done on the event-organizing level. She is detailed oriented and personable. She gets things done.
Earlier this year, she played a significant role with her husband, Dan, in bringing the Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats brand to Unlimited Marine, which is the first Kentucky dealership for the Cape Coral, Fla.-based brand.

Nor-Tech has a strong relationship with Fort Myers Offshore—and vice-versa. Electing Weiss to the board of directors can’t help but strengthen that relationship.
“I have been so impressed with how much (Fort Myers Offshore leaders) Tim and Cyndee Hill have grown the club and just how fun being around this group is, not to mention supporting the mission of the club and everything they do for the scholarships along the way,” she said in this morning’s story. “It was a no-brainer to want to get involved.”

Weiss joins fellow Fort Myers Offshore board-member powerhouse Cyndee Hill. The wife of club president Tim Hill, Cyndee Hill is a “lead, follow or get out of the way” type of leader who, like Weiss, usually leads. She anticipates member needs and desires ahead of time rather than reacting to them when they become apparent. She doesn’t like to say so but—also like Weiss—she’s not afraid to say it.
“I have to credit Cyndee for doing so much of the work,” Tim Hill said, then laughed. “She pretty much does most of the hard stuff for me. I just get to look good and take the credit.”
