DCB Bringing Heavy Hardware To 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run

Entering its third year as the presenting sponsor of the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run in Clayton, N.Y., DCB Performance Marine is on a mission to make a bigger impression—literally and figuratively—this time around. A new M45 catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing 1100 stern-drive engines and a pair of 42R catamarans equipped with 500-hp outboards from the Fond du Lac, Wis., company are on the way to the event this week from the Phoenix-based high-performance catamaran builder.

East Coast performance-boating fans will get an up-close look at a DCB M45 catamaran this week at the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run.

Though the 42R already has an East Coast presence—1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run committee members Ken and Renee Lalonde own an absolute stunner—the event will mark the model’s East Coast poker-run debut.

“There will be several 37Rs there as well,” said Tony Chiaramonte, DCB’s vice-president. “We always have a great turnout at the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run. We usually have six or more boats in the run on Saturday.

“We will have multiple boats—including the M45—in the Block Party on Thursday night,” he added.

DCB began sending representatives to the event, which primarily raises funds for Make-A-Wish of Central New York, six years ago. So impressed were DCB’s team-members with the 1,000 Islands affair that just a few years later the company became its presenting backer.

A new 42R catamaran also is on its way to the Clayton, N.Y., event.

“The 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run is one of my favorite events,” Chiaramonte explained. “It has super-good people working for a great cause, and it’s very well-organized. And the area couldn’t be more beautiful.

“We love supporting this event—and I’m personally looking forward to getting there,” he added.
