Thanks to photographer Pete Boden and our trusty friend WeTransfer, I woke early last Sunday morning to more than 120 mostly excellent images from Saturday’s season-opening Fort Myers Offshore Homecoming Run to Marco Island. Among them were several fine captures of Southwest Florida’s Dan Kuhn running his DCB Performance Marine 37R catamaran in sporty conditions in the Gulf.
“The weekend was great,” Kuhn said. “And the boat is running great. I love it.”

Originally from the Northeast, Kuhn lives full-time in Cape Coral—he has a lovely waterfront home—so on any given weekend from late fall through early spring you’ll likely find him on the water. His vibrant green-and-white 37-footer makes him even easier to spot.
But while he’s the best-known DCB owner in the area, he’s soon to have seasonal company. His fellow 37R owners Chris Fisher of Vermont, Kelly O’Hara of New York and Kiran Pinisetti of Indiana and Kentucky’s Greg Scheller typically participate in Fort Myers Offshore events.
The owners of a DCB 42R catamaran, Ken and Renee Lalonde of 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run organizing-fame purchased a second home in Cape Coral earlier this year. Their elegant 42-footer should be a head-turner at a few FMO events during the 2026/2027 season.
DCB vice-president Tony Chiaramonte estimates that the Phoenix-based company has no less than 15 full-tunnel catamarans from the Northeast and Southeast to the Sunshine State.
“Every boat we have built this year except for one was a true-tunnel cat,” he said. “We are building a 42R right now as a demo boat.”
Chiaramonte hasn’t ruled out in participating in a Fort Myers Offshore this season. He’s noticed the momentum the DCB has in Southwest Florida, as well as the momentum of Fort Myers Offshore itself.
“I’m going to try, for sure,” he revealed.
One thing is certain. If the DCB man does make it to an FMO event this season, he’ll be in great company.
