We all have those good friends who assume we know everyone they do, right? For me, that guy is high-performance marine and finance dude Devin Wozencraft.
To be fair, we work in the same industry, though in very different roles, so a certain amount of assumption is fair. If I drew a blank when he name-dropped Randy Scism of MTI, John Cosker of Mystic Powerboats or someone else on that industry level, he’d have cause to worry about me—and vice-versa.

But, cool guy that Tom Hall is and cherished friend that he has become, I had no idea who he was when Wozencraft first dropped his name last year. I only knew that Wozencraft “couldn’t believe” I didn’t recognize he name when he told me I must know him. I just rolled my eyes and resisted the urge to say, “Uh, Dev? Guess what? I don’t live in your head.”
Now about Tom Hall, who is literally one of the most fun-loving, joyful gentlemen I’ve met in a decade. Earlier this week, he turned 65 years old. To celebrate, he and his wife, Suzanne, flew to the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri to take delivery a new MTI 440X catamaran at Performance Boat Center.
At happens, the 440X is new build No. 65 for the now 65-year-old. Hall aptly named the 44-footer Just Got Bored.

They left the same day for New York, where they are spending the summer. They’ll return to their winter place in Sarasota, Fla., come fall, where Hall has a 33-foot Valhalla on a lift behind their waterfront home. The 44-footer will join it later this year 2024/2025 Southwest Florida boating season.
With two boats to enjoy, Hall reduce his chances for getting bored. But if he does, his friends may event find a third boat behind his Sarasota home.
