In a media tradition that started four years ago, “The Zone” 97.7 FM Sports Radio” personalities Rick Lopez and Todd Swofford will show up two hours early to the Speed On The Water Key West Bash and charity auction at the Pickle’s Pub Sandbar host venue on November 6. But the talented duo isn’t arriving early to pre-game for the celebration—they’ll be working. For two hours, they’ll broadcast live interviews with offshore racing shakers and movers in town for the Race World Offshore Key West World Championships.
Here’s a look at the interview line-up:
5 p.m. to 5:20 p.m.—Factory Stock racers Nick Imprescia and Ian Morgan.
5:20 p.m. 5:40 p.m.—MTI principal Randy Scism and M CON Offshore Racing team owner Tyler Miller
6 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.—Race World Offshore head Larry Bleil and International Hot Rod Association executive Leah Martin.
6:20 p.m. 6:40 p.m.—Super Stock racers Cole Leibel and Gary Ballough.
6:40 to 7 p.m.—broadcaster Eric Colby and speedonthewater.com publisher Matt Trulio.
Listeners don’t have to be in Key West, much less the Pickle’s Pub Sandbar, to catch the show. It will be carried live on radio station’s website, as well as through iHeart radio as The Zone 97.7 FM channel is a member of the iHeart network.
Another piece of don’t-miss media timed for release during the Key West Worlds, the popular Speed On The Water/Scrapyard Media “In The Lead” documentary video series returns November 9 with offshore racing safety/rescue expert Shawn Steinert in the spotlight. The episode will air at 6 p.m. EST on the Speed On The Water YouTube channel.
