Heading into its second year, the Great South Bay Poker Run in Long Island, N.Y., is set for May 30. The event attracted 50 boats in its inaugural running.

The second Great South Bay Poker Run in Long Island, N.Y., is scheduled for the end of this month.
“A great turnout shaping up for the second GSB Poker Run,” said Alexandria Schnepf, one of the event’s co-organizers and the owner of Rage Powerboats and Activator Racing. “We’re excited about the momentum and interest surrounding it already.
“We’re also proud to announce that Pursuit Boats is coming on board as our official title sponsor for this year’s event,” she added.
Registration is open. Cost is $275 per boat and includes entry for the owner/captain and one passenger.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Blue Island Oyster Foundation. The nonprofit organization “works to preserve Long Island’s marine environment and promote sustainable aquaculture,” according to its website.
