Make Party Cove Great Again Coming Back Next Month

Located at Mile Marker 4 in the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks, the “Party Cove” will once again become a small sea of powerboats come Saturday, July 18, with the Make Party Cove Great Again affair. The casual gathering will be “brought to you again” by Bikini Lives Matter, Horsepower Hottie, and Swift & Co Realty.

The Make Party Cove Great Again gathering returns next month.

That’s the word from Nikki Sorenson, a longtime local at the Central Missouri waterway who established the Bikini Lives Matter and Horsepower Hottie swim-suit brands. Sorenson, who works works as an agent for Swift & Co Realty, is spearheading the effort to get the word out about the day-long happening.

Naturally, this year’s theme is the 250th anniversary of the United States, also known as the Semiquincentennial or Quarter Millennium, on July 4. The Make Party Cove Great Again affair will happen two weeks later to the day.

“There’s no better theme than red, white and blue as it’s America’s 250th birthday,” Sorenson. “So let’s be patriotic.

Like many Lake of the Ozarks locals, Sorenson and her husband, Chuck, are nostalgic when it comes to the Party Cove scene and its various iterations during the years.

“I know it will never be as big as it was back in Party Cove’s heyday, but we love keeping the throwback stories alive,” Sorenson explained. “It would be great to fill up the cove someday to one-quarter of the size it once was.”

Swift & Co Realty also publishes the annual Get-Down Guide focused on the best of Lake of the Ozarks nightlife.

“As a company, we like to lean into the fun side of the lake.” said Mike Swift, the owner of the residential real estate firm, following the 2023 Make Party Cove Great Again affair.

The event has no set start or finish time.

“Anchor out as early and stay as late as you want,” Sorenson said. “I’m sure we will throw out some apparel and other freebies during the day.”
