PBN Exclusive—DCB Rolling With M35R Catamaran No. 2

A brightly hued creation, the second M35R catamaran from Phoenix-based DCB Performance Marine is complete and soon will be headed to its New Hampshire-based owner on an Adrenaline aluminum trailer. DCB vice-president Tony Chiaramonte tested the twin Mercury Racing 500R outboard engine-powered model earlier this week on Lake Havasu.

The second DCB M35R catamaran is ready for delivery to its New Hampshire-based owner.

“The M35R is a really cool boat,” he said. “It’s quick and it’s super-nimble and agile—it corners great. And with 34-inch-pitch props, I got it to 126 mph.

“I do wish someone would order one with Racing’s 400-hp V-10 outboards,” he added, then chuckled. “I think that would be an awesome package for the M35R. But right now, everyone wants the 500s.”

DCB currently has sold four M35R catamarans to date. Hull No. 3 is in lamination.

“The new factory is working out really well,” Chiaramonte noted. “Production flow has already improved so much.”

The company also is continuing its collaboration with offshore center-console builder Deep Impact Custom Boats of South Florida. To that end, DCB has a Deep Impact 369 at its Lake Havasu City, Ariz., storage facility.

“That’s been going really well for us,” Chiaramonte said. “We’re keeping the 369 at our Lake Havasu place so we can give demo rides, and we’ve already seen a lot of interest.”
