As any savvy offshore racing fan knows, the Lake of the Ozarks is home-water for Tyler Miller, the owner/throttleman of the Pro Class 1 M CON Offshore Racing team backed by Monster Energy. Miller and his wife, Lindsey, who live in Wathena, Kans., began enjoying the Central Missouri long before they entered the sport. So putting on a great show—and winning in the best case—for their Lake of the Ozarks fans means a lot to them.

M CON Offshore Racing will showcase new Factory Stock (above) and Pro Class 1 catamarans at next month’s International Hot Rod Association Shootout Offshore event.
But this year at Shootout Offshore, which is set for June 12-14 at the lake, the Millers and their extended offshore racing family will win before the first-green flag flies. That’s because M CON Offshore Racing team will debut two new boats at their home-race.
Miller and Myrick Coil will run their new Skater catamaran, a smaller replacement for their existing Skater ride in the Pro Class 1 ranks. They’ll also be running their new MTI 390X catamaran in the Factory Stock class.
Though Miller and Coil are Pro Class 1 veterans, they are newcomers to Factory Stock competition. As such, waiting for the Shootout Offshore affair for their Factory Stock debut made tactical sense.
“Randy Scism and the crew at MTI delivered the 390X as promised in time for Thunder On Cocoa Beach this month,” Miller explained. “But we made a team-decision to get plenty of practice and testing time so when we hit the water we can be competitive in what is a super-competitive class.”
But regardless of how well they do in each class, the M CON Offshore Racing team will be a winner at Shootout Offshore for saving the unveiling of two new raceboats for its hometown fans.
