The driving force behind the Tip of the Spear Poker Run based in Norfolk, Va., Mark Tuck has owned several high-performance boats during the years. Tuck and his wife, Nancy, are currently enjoying this weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri. They were among the thousands of revelers at last night’s Performance Boat Center Shoot Welcome Party and the dealership’s Osage Beach home-base.
Because no matter how many times you’ve been, no Shootout experience is complete without—at the very least—a stop by the Performance Boat Center affair.

But the Tuck’s, who previously owned a P360 cat, had an ulterior motive. Earlier this week, they took delivery of a new Performance Powerboats P420 from the multi-brand, full-service dealership.
“We moved to the P420 from the P360 is because of the rougher water conditions we experience from time to time at our home off the James River in coastal Virginia,” Tuck explained. “It has handled the LOTO rough like a boss.
“I was a little worried about the stiffness of the ride as it is my first all carbon boat, have not found that to be the case at all, Performance nailed the paint and the rigging. And the workmanship of the guys at Kutting Edge Interiors is second to none.”
The Tuck’s will, of course, run the 42-footer at the third annual Tip of the Spear affair.
“We are also very pleased with the speed,” he added. “It exceeded my expectations.”
