Powered By Performance Raises $45,000 For Make-A-Wish Program

Most notably as a presenting sponsor for the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, which raises money for people in need around the Central Missouri waterway, Performance Boat Center supports charitable initiatives. But because the Osage Beach-headquartered MTI, Performance Powerboats and Sunsation Boats dealership is such an economic powerhouse, its philanthropic efforts tend to fall below radar.

Just last weekend, for example, through its second-year Powered By Performance Invitational event for customers who own boat from the above-noted brand, Performance Boat Center raised $45,000 for Make-A-Wish of Missouri and Kansas. The two-day event attracted 70 boat owners and their guests.

The dealership announced its fundraising total last night in post on social media.

“Thank you to everyone who came out to our Invitational,” the post read. “We couldn’t do what we do without you.”

The two-day event included Friday and Saturday lunch runs. That turned out to be good planning as Friday’s lunch trek mostly fell prey to rain. But the weather turnout around in time for the Saturday affair, and the run was a hit.

No one was more pleased than Performance Boat Center co-owners Brett Manire and Mark Waddington.

“It was an awesome day and we had a huge turnout,” he said.

Added Performance Boat Center salesperson and general bon vivant Michael Hall, “You just never know with this group of boaters what’s going to happen. We are certainly thrilled with the money raised and couldn’t be happier with our turnout. It’s truly an honor to be a part of it all.”
