Center consoles from MTI and Sunsation dominate the Lake of the Ozarks. For firsthand proof, all you need do is visit the Central Missouri waterway on a summer weekend and keep your eyes open. No further convincing will be required. Turn your head a degree to one direction or another and you’re bound to spy one brand or the other
Or several of one or the other.
That doesn’t mean you won’t see a Fountain, a Mystic, a Nor-Tech or other noteworthy center-console brand on the lake—you certainly will. But MTIs and Sunsations are everywhere.

Thanks to Renegade Powerboats and Concept Boats, however, folks in town for the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout next week will have the chance to ogle new builds from two longstanding center-console brands out of South Florida.
Through the efforts of marine industry veteran Randy Kent, Renegade already has a growing presence at the waterway. His RK Motorsports business is the exclusive for the dealer Hialeah- quartered brand, as well as the exclusive dealer new catamaran builder Platinum Powerboats. Kent will have a pair of Renegade beauties at the Wednesday night Shootout On The Strip Street Party presented by Waves And Wheels and the first Platinum 428 cat in the RK Motorsports. They’ll also be on the water throughout the week.
Eric Avila, on the other hand, isn’t just showcasing the new Concept 4400 center console during the week for the first time at the lake. It will be the company vice-president’s first visit to the area. In addition to exhibiting the 44-footer at the Wednesday night street affair, he’ll have it at the Camden On The Lake Resort during next weekend’s concurrent Super Cat Fest event.
Neither brand is about to knock MTI or Sunsation off its respective pedestal, especially in the heartland. That much is certain. But for center-console fans who haven’t seen their products before—much less seen running on the Lake of the Ozarks and on display—next week will be a treat.
