Since he founded Angle Of Attack Marine located in Miami Beach Marina, Mystic Powerboats dealer Chris Richards had a clear vision for building a new audience for the DeLand, Fla., center-console and catamaran builder. Richards owned a Mystic M4200 center console and a C4000 catamaran before he became a dealer. He loved how the boats performed. He loved their elegant lines. But he wanted to take styling and—frankly—attitude to a more aggressive level, one that appeals to buyers with his own fashion-forward sensibilities.
Docked at Gilbert’s Resort and Tiki Bar in Key Large, Fla., this afternoon as part of the fleet headed to the Florida Powerboat Club Key West Powerboat Week, the first M5200 center console—currently for sale at $2.6 million—from Angle of Attack Marine is the stunning proof of Richards’ vision for the Mystic brand. The quad V-12 Mercury Marine 600 outboard engine-powered 52-footer at the docks stopped club members and theirs friends in their tracks.

That the boat is for sale is no surprise Angle of Attack Marine is, after all, a Mystic dealer.
“I’m already building another one,” he said, then smiled. “We’re just getting started, and not just in South Florida. I see Angle of Attack Marine-ordered Mystic center consoles and catamarans as Lake Havasu boats and as Southern California boats.
Richards is driven, and by the number of folks who stopped and stared at the captivating black-and-green creation, he’s on the right track. Not everyone is in the market for such an aggressive, high-style center console, of course. But Richards trusts his vision and knows, based on his own market research, that those buyers exist and are ready for something more edgy from Mystic.
And he’s on mission to deliver it.
