WMF Watercraft And Marine Is A Pontoon Powerhouse

An Avalon Boats dealer since 2013 and now exclusively headquartered in Cape Coral, Fla., Bill Forenski of WMF Watercraft and Marine loves big-power of the outboard engine kind. His MTI 390X center console has a pair of Mercury Racing 500Rs. Quad 400Rs power his Cigarette 41 GTR Reserve center console dubbed Reserve Patience in honor of his wife, Patience.

Appropriately named Fireball, this twin Mercury Racing 500R outboard engine-powered Avalon beauty is coming to WMF Watercraft and Marine.

So clearly, Forenski believes in the product, so much so that he’s sold 30-plus Avalon pontoon boats equipped with Mercury Racing outboards. Also worth noting? WMF Watercraft and Marine is the Wisconsin toon-builder’s third largest dealer in the world.

Until recently, Forenski had 500R powered Avalon model of his own. Now—at least for the moment—he doesn’t one in his fleet.

“We sold it a week ago,” he said. “But we have a Ruby Red one coming in with 500Rs. We’re calling it Fireball.”

Most Mercury Racing outboard-powered Avalon pontoons the dealership sell are twin setups. But he has sold several models with single outboards from the Fond du Lac, Wis., company.

Who is the buyer for big-power toons?

“There’s not really a buyer ‘profile,’” Forenski explained. “But most of the time, the buyer is someone who’s had or still has a performance boat.”

Forenski is a board-member of Fort Myers Offshore, a thriving Southwest Florida-based powerboat club that raises college and trade-school scholarship funds awarded to local students. The nonprofit outfit’s 2026/2027 event-season kicks off next weekend—Saturday, October 24, to put a fine point on it—with a lunch run to the Marco Island Yacht Club.

With a Cigarette center console and an MTI catamaran of his own, Forenski has options for the event. What he doesn’t have right now is a Mercury Racing outboard-powered Avalon pontoon.

But that likely won’t last long.
