One of Nor-Tech’s newest dealers and its first Kentucky-based distributor, Unlimited Marine in Russell Springs is hosting a Nor-Tech Fun Run and Photo Shoot July 11 on Lake Cumberland. The Friday event will lead off the 18th annual Lake Cumberland Thunder Run organized by the dealership’s Dan and Julie Weiss and their longtime friend Justin Lucas.

In addition to still images, photographer Walt Bullwinkel will capture video from the event.
“We wanted to get some footage of both new inventory boats on the water and some morning shots at 76 Falls, because there is nothing more ‘Lake Cumberland’ than that. “So that was always the plan while we have Walt there for the weekend for shooting photos and video for the Thunder Run.
“But as registrations kept rolling in there were quite a few Nor-techs on the list,” she added. “I just thought, ‘How fun would it be to have them join us?'”

A need for images of new Nor-Tech center consoles from Unlimited Marine drove the first-time event.
As previously reported, the July dates are the latest in the event’s history. The organizers moved the dates as rain-driven debris in Lake Cumberland have been a challenge for participants during the years.
“We were shooting for July this year with the date change but we couldn’t make that work with our host marina,” Weiss said. “So we started conversations even earlier this year to get it moved and make July happen. “Water conditions from spring debris only improve as the summer goes on.
“We’re looking forward to the inaugural Nor-Tech Fun Run and Photo Shoot on Lake Cumberland,” she added.

Said Weiss, “Nothing says ‘Lake Cumberland’ like 76 Falls.”
