DCB Performance Marine Solid With Trio Of Stern-Drive Builds

Since DCB Performance Marine introduced the full-tunnel M37R catamaran six years ago and later released its M42R and M35R siblings, outboard engines have dominated the Phoenix company’s build-sheets. But if you visited DCB production facility right now, you’d find a pair of M45 catamarans and one M35 in progress—all which will be powered by Mercury Racing stern-drive engines.

For the first time in four years, DCB Performance Marine has an M35 catamaran in progress.

“We had some M41 cats on order where the buyers decided to move up to M45s,” explained Tony Chiaramonte, the vice-president of the company. “We still have some clients who have owned are inboard boats and remain inboard people.”

The M45s in progress are hulls No. 3 and No. 4. Hull No. 3 should be on the water in two weeks. Hull No. 4 is in lamination. Both were ordered with Mercury Racing 1350/1100 engines and M8 drives.

According to Chiaramonte, the current M35 build is the first with stern-drive power in four years. Like the M45s, the 35-footer will boast twin Mercury Racing 1350/1100 engines with M8 drives.

Both M45s will have Mercury Racing 1350/1100 engines with M8 drives.

Lest outboard fans feel left out, the company has an M42R catamaran in buffing and polishing. Like all M42Rs built to date, the 42-footer is equipped with twin Mercury Racing 500Rs.

“The outboard market is still strong,” Chiaramonte said. “But it’s nice to see some inboards in the mix.”
