Need a reason to look forward to the start of the 2026/2027 Fort Myers Offshore event-season in Southwest Florida next month? I’ll give you two.
First, the heat will be less oppressive than it is now. I live in Sarasota. Every day for the past three months, a dense wall of wet heat has punched me hard the moment I walked out the door. As a Northern California transplant/humidity-wimp who headed east almost three years ago, I’d love to be able stay I’ve become used to it. What I can say is I’ve become more used to it.

The weather is still toasty and humid in October. But it tends to be a bit less so.
Second, the Fort Myers Offshore season begins with a Saturday, October 24 lunch run to the Marco Island Yacht Club. The nonprofit scholarship fundraising organization went there last season for the first time in its 20-plus-year history and the destination was a hit.
That’s one of nine events—a club record—on the 2026/2027 schedule. Another fine outing launched last season, the Hawks Cay Resort Invitational returns March 25-27.
Of course, there are plenty of club-member favorites including two treks to the Riviera Bar and Grill in Punta Gorda, one to the Naples Hyatt House and one to Three Fishermen Seafood Restaurant in Fort Myers. (Click here to check out the complete date and destination list.)
“Looking at this schedule, I can’t help but feel excited about what’s ahead,” Tim Hill, the president of the club, said in a previous article about the outfit’s upcoming season. “I honestly believe this has the potential to be the biggest season in Fort Myers Offshore’s history.
“Actually, I know it is,” he added. “Not because of the number of events, but because of the people who make them.”
The people—I almost forgot that one.
So are there are three great reasons to look forward to what’s coming.
