Mystic Steps Up To Sponsor Samuel’s House/Key West Bash Shirts, FPC Makes A Generous Schedule Move

In years past, speedonthewater.com has tapped high-performance marine industry companies to fund giveaway shirts for the annual Speed On The Water Bash and Charity Auction, which is set this year for Thursday evening, November 6, affair at the Pickle’s Pub Sandbar restaurant on Greene Street. This time around, those shirts will be sold for $50 each.

Why the radical—from free to 50 bucks a piece—price change at a time when everyone could use a break from price increases?

Thanks to Mystic Powerboats, Samuel’s House will keep all proceeds from shirt sales during this Thursday’s 12th annual Speed On The Water Key West Bash and Charity Auction.

Because thanks to Mystic Powerboats, 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to Samuel’s House, one of two nonprofit beneficiaries supported by this year’s event. The DeLand, Fla., center console and catamaran builder sponsored the long-sleeve dry-fit shirts so all monies from those sales will go to the Key West-based shelter for women and children.

“We more than happy to do it,” said John Cosker, the founder and owner of Mystic.

In a related move of generosity aimed at driving traffic to the 12th annual celebration, the Florida Powerboat Club changed its schedule for the body-painting party in the Key West Powerboat Week Village. The club moved that crowd-pleasing element to Friday evening rather than holding it, per longstanding tradition, on Thursday night.
