PBC Hosting/Producing First Two-Event Weekend

On any given weekend from May through September at the Lake of the Ozarks, Performance Boat Center of Osage Beach, Mo., buzzes with activity. More than a full-service MTI, Performance Powerboats and Sunsation Boats dealership, Performance Boat Center is a destination—one with an adjacent restaurant, tiki bar and swimming pool—for go-fast boating fans from across the country.

But this coming weekend will be bigger than most for company co-owner Brett Manire and his team, as they’ll be hosting and producing the Cigarette Owners Rendezvous and the Powered by Performance Invitational. Both events have more than 100 participants signed up so far.

It will be the first time Performance Boat Center has produced two in-house events in one weekend.

“It’s going to be wild having two major events on the same weekend,” Manire explained. “We never done it before. The weather looks like it will be perfect.”

Of course, to avoid overlap the events have different agendas, destinations and schedules.

Members of the Cigarette faithful will meet Thursday evening for a welcome celebration at the Camden On The Lake Resort. On Friday morning after a drivers meeting, the group will head to Coconuts. Saturday’s run will take participants to the Cave Bar and Grill for lunch. A raft-up will follow lunch. Then the fleet will return to the Camden On The Lake Resort for another celebration.

The Powered By Performance Invitational also starts Thursday, but with a meet-and-greet at the Redhead Lakefront Grill next door to Performance Boat Center. On Friday morning after the drivers meeting, participants well head to the Cave Bar and Grill. A dinner celebration is set for Friday evening at the High-Tide above the Lakeside Grill. Saturday’s run will take Powered by Performance participants to Coconuts.

The two events do have one destination in common. For participants from both events staying Sunday or leaving late in the day, a fun run to Dog Days Bar and Grill is planned.

Added Manire, “We are all working super-hard to ensure everyone has a great time.”
