Search efforts are still continuing after a boating accident last weekend left one child dead due to drowning and two other people missing. Corpus Christi Police said the leisure boat had eight people on board when it overturned in the bay during rough weather on Sunday. The boat was believed to be about a mile off shore from Swantner Park.  After one woman was able to swim ashore and alert the authorities by reaching a nearby apartment complex, emergency personnel then located five other people including a four year old boy who later died after being taken to the hospital.

A girl and a man remain missing. A police statement Monday night said fire department personnel and the Coast Guard are helping with search efforts.
