Though Valentine’s Day is the ultimate Hallmark holiday, men who ignore it—no matter what their significant other tells them—do so at their own peril. Because no matter how many times you’ve heard, “I don’t care,” those three short words cannot be taken literally. Smart money says you better do something. It doesn’t have to be expensive or extravagant.
But it has to be something.
To the rescue this year, at least for Fort Myers Offshore members, comes the club’s February 14 Sweethearts Run to Junkanoo Below Deck restaurant in Fort Myers Beach, Fla. The event isn’t designed to be big, it may well be the most lightly attended affair in the nonprofit scholarship fundraising club’s 2025/2026.

But once again, it’s something.
For the first time, Performance Boat Center will sponsor the event. The co-owner of the multi-brand dealership, which has locations in Central Missouri and South Florida, Brett Manire will be there with his fiancé, Kaitlyn Kristal, and friends.
No dummy, that Manire, he has Valentine’s Day more than covered as he and Krystal cherish their time together on the water. It’s a perfect fit for the low-key couple.
Yet there’s even to it than that. Manire and Kristal, have developed an understandably large crush on Fort Myers Offshore events.
“We have been attending a few FMO runs,” he explained. I didn’t realize how many Performance Boat Center customers there were in the club. It’s like being on a PBC fun run in Florida, very casual and comfortable.”
Of course, if you’re not a Fort Myers Offshore member the Valentine’s Day Sweethearts Run isn’t an option for you. Unless you join the club, you’ll have to think of something else to do.
But by all means, do something. Or trouble may follow.
Why risk it?
