AMP Celebration On Tap Tomorrow Night In Fort Lauderdale

A little more than a month ago ahead of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, American Marine Performance of Pompano Beach, Fla., announced CMC Marine as its newest dealer. But with the Shootout looming and a new 41-foot catamaran to introduce during the Central Missouri event, there hasn’t been time to celebrate the AMP/CMC partnership.

American Marine’s new 41-footer is one of three catamarans it will display tomorrow night at the SLT Collection in Fort Lauderdale.

That will change tomorrow night at the SLT Collection in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.—the home-base for CMC Marine—with a cocktail party hosted by the high-performance center-console and catamaran builder starting at 6 p.m. The builder will showcase its 41-, 35- and 34-foot catamarans during the event.

The product of a partnership between marine industry notables Wally Castro and Scot Conrad, CMC Marine has several brands under its umbrella including AMP, DCB Performance Marine, Cigarette Racing Team and Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats, which Castro and Conrad acquired last month. Both principals believe the AMP line dovetails neatly their existing offerings.

“CMC’s goal is to offer the best in luxury and high performance boating, and AMP fits that vision perfectly,” Castro explained. “They produce an incredible product that rivals the competition, while bringing fresh, innovative designs and forward thinking ideas that represent the future of performance boating.

“There are a lot of brands in the market today that build a good product at a competitive price point,” he continued. “We chose AMP because we believe in the product, the people behind it, and where the brand is headed. They give us the ability to offer our customers a high quality, high performance boat at a competitive price point without sacrificing the craftsmanship, performance, or innovation our customers expect. For CMC, it was important that we didn’t just add another brand. We wanted to add a brand we genuinely believe in and are proud to stand behind and for us. That brand is AMP.”

AMP will also will display models, including its new 41-foot catamaran, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show later this month and during the Race World Offshore Key West World Championships in early November. But for the moment, the AMP and CMC teams are focused on tomorrow night’s affair.

“From the beginning, AMP and CMC have worked closely together on our builds, constantly bouncing ideas off each other and focusing on what matters most to our customers,” Conrad explained. “The marine industry is always evolving and we want to offer a boat that evolves with it. Having the opportunity to collaborate directly with AMP allows us to share customer feedback, explore new ideas, and continue improving the product as the market changes.

“Arthur Fusco, Claire Morineau and Walt Braithwaite at AMP have been great to work with and there is a genuine excitement on both sides about what we can build together,” he added. “We’re really looking forward to seeing where this partnership takes us in the future.”
