There isn’t a boater alive that hasn’t experienced some sort of engine failure. If you are PBN TV’s own JW Davis and you happen to be sporting three engines in your 42 Outerlimits, what might you do if all three motors required full rebuilds? You just switch gears and go find your thrills elsewhere in the biggest mud hole you can find instead of on the lake.

Before the world even new what a tough mudder course was, and back when mud was still a dirty word our own JW was a bonafide mud racer. So tucked away in the back of a shop sits a 1500 horsepower fire breathing, mud bogging missile

So with a wounded water rocket and knowing you can’t rush a good engine machine shop, he dusted off his trusty steed and went back to racing. Most everyone in the mud racing world will be happy to know his boat is done because he can stop racking up wins and go back to the water where he belongs. This past weekend was a Davis family event for him and cousin Jake Davis brought home first in the Unlimited (top level class) in both flat pit and hill and hole competition.

But it’s time to wash off ol’ JW and get him shined back up so he Miss PBN Brittany can meet us at TICKFAW for more filming of our upcoming series!

That’s right! For all of you who think you might have been to or seen a GIANT, HUMONGOUS, ENORMOUS boating event somewhere… Well, if it wasn’t Lake Cumberland then you literally haven’t seen anything. Sure, everywhere claims to be big but if one place wants to throw down the gauntlet, then I’m pretty sure that after The 2016 State Dock Lake Cumberland Poker Run, they are the current champion.

Estimates put the raft up at between 1,100 to 1,200 boats and 7,000 people ON THE WATER! No, not land folks. This is the MEGA boating party at its best. It is the true Mardi Gras of boating as this event has a mixture of numerous events and high points all blended into one event. It encompasses a floating city of over 1,500 house boats and slips at State Dock where everyone who attends gathers, socializes, eats, drinks and eventually sleeps (VERY little).  The house boat village is so much fun, and the uniqueness and cool factor are outrageously over the top. It could be considered an Adult Disneyland. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet and greet so many powerboat enthusiasts!

Everyone stays on the docks and doesn’t leave so the vibe, camaraderie, and party are unmatched anywhere we have ever been. It’s the very best parts of say, Key West, Desert Storm, Pirates of Lanier, and Tickfaw all rolled into one!

Powerboating’s who’s who were on hand and ourselves along with industry leaders Sunsation Powerboats and Performance Boat Center provided the means for what will go down in history now as one of the MUST SEE/MUST ATTEND powerboating parties of the year. How can we say this? Well, we put on the industries’ #1 party in Miami every year and we along with support from our friends here have created a monster powerboat party experience that we are committed to making bigger and better as we go forward!

Lake Cumberland is an experience that can only be understood by attending and if you want to really enjoy it all,  get in line because the wait for a proper houseboat on the dock is as equally as big as the event itself!

It was a fantastic weekend for powerboaters with several major poker run runs and events happening simultaneously across the nation. Everyone came out in force to have a great time out on the water and support the charities to which many of the runs were donating to.

We have some great photos and video right here from Powerboat Nation members that attended the different events, and so far it sounds like everything went smoothly!

Jackie Jones got some great video from the Florida Powerboat Club Bahamas Poker Run that saw perfect weather, a great group of powerboaters,  and awesome water that made for an unforgettable run! Five days of pure powerboating bliss should make you want to be the first to sign up for next year’s run.

And it looks like Angelo Philip had a blast running the Tickfaw and partying at SunBuns with everyone making donations to the local fireman’s fund. And if you’re heading down the river don’t forget to stop by the Prop Stop for some drinks with everyone!

The Lake Erie Poker Run was yet again a huge success! With over 40 registered boats from both the U.S. and Canada picking up cards for their hands in the poker run and the 3 best jet ski freestylers in the world performing jaw dropping stunts, this was an event for the ages that we hope you didn’t miss. Check out all of the photos from the event by Sharkey Images right here!

In an interesting twist, this year’s run in Jacksonville wasn’t an official poker run, but a River Rally & Fun Run instead! But regardless of the change, both the run and the raft up saw many boaters, and most importantly the proceeds from the event were high and went directly to charity. See the photos from the event by Shoot 2 Thrill Pix and Freeze Frame here!

To finish off the weekend, the Long Island Stampede saw its biggest turnout in years and went off without a hitch as well as a great party at Bracco’s! Check out the link to see all of the photos and videos from those that attended the run!

We hope to see everyone at the next poker run or event, we’re looking forward to see who returns next year!

Casey from Baton Rouge, Louisiana is Powerboat Nation’s first Boater of the Week! Casey first entered the world of powerboating 8 years ago when he bought a 25′ for his 22nd birthday! Great on fuel, with tremendous speed and comfort, it was an easy decision to make it is own. Since then Casey has upgraded to his 31′ Cigarette Bullet, which he takes all over the place, but he calls the Tickfaw River home. He plans to attend the Miami Boat Show, Texas Out Law Challenge, Pirates of Lanier, LOTO Shootout in 2016, and a few others “time permitting.” In the future, Casey has his sights set on upgrading to a 39 Cigarette TS with 700s.

When asked what his favorite boating experience was, he didn’t disappoint…

“Young and dumb. Went to biloxi Mississippi for run of the dogs poker run. Two buddy’s and myself decided to pick up some girls at the signup party. There about 15 minutes and scored 2 girls. They looked young but at least 18. So I asked and they offered up ID’s. All checked out and was good to go in the morning. Get to the boat ramp and there they wait in street clothes thinking I was bluffing. They changed in the cabin once we got going and it was wide open from then on. Was a great day on the water and they stayed at the after party and kept going till it was time Leave. Now fast forward a few weeks we go back and they come also. Only to find out this time we had been given fake ID’s with real pictures and holograms in them! We had been took and could have been under the jail house for this one.”

The team at Powerboat Nation is happy to have a boater like Casey on board and we look forward to seeing where he takes his passion in the future!

The Sixth Annual Smokin the Sound Poker Run was the very best ever. Why? A date change to move it downstream from Tickfaw and Havasu, making it a stand alone event from the races, and a huge $25K Prize purse all contributed to making this year an incredible year. The years to come will just get better and better and these are the reasons why.

This year Powerboat Nation was on hand to capture it all and we had a great time in and around Biloxi. Kort Ordered was the boat of the day as Kort and Jessicca Wittich were kind enough to host us aboard their incredible 36 Sunsation CCX.

The PBN crew aboard was a blast… I had so much fun doing this run and it was because of who I was privileged to hang with. From SUNBUNS, Steve Emmons , Mike and Angela Goldbaugh. The fun loving always a blast to be around AJ with Allison Lo Proto and enjoying the ride along with me handy engine builder Marc Boos from Precision Marine

The Golden Nugget Resort is a fabulous resort casino hosting the event and all of the card stops along the way were incredible. The long lunch stop at Base St. Louis gave all of us a chance to take in the the brand new marina complex along with some incredibly cool historic buildings that actually survived Katrina… and not much did.

The skinny run up to Orangutangs Daiquiris and Bar topped off the day.

A big thanks to all my Powerboating Friends that really show such strong support to PowerBoat Nation and all we are trying to do.

Great Time! See you all in Jacksonville:

Boca Bash is HUGE-HUGE this year!

Now granted not a whole bunch of over the top Performance Pleasure boats, but we did see a few…… The point of this to me was how big its become and the demographic of party goers is very young. The Boca Bash is not new but it is certainly gaining in popularity and brings a ton of excitement and visibility to the boating crowd.

Powerboat Nation was pleased to be able to return from The Desert Storm Poker Run and be able to get on the water with great friends before leaving for Tickfaw. Check out all the pictures and keep in mind these are all the tame G-Rated shots.

What a show and what a crowd!

Full schedule for Gulf Coast Offshore I cant believe I am going to miss Tickfaw again. Next year we may have to not go to Havasu
